Abstract

The teacher’s labour activity is determined by the role he plays in society.  This is, first of all, the special mission of a teacher in the society life where he serves such functions as educational, instructional and developmental. In the process of carrying out this activity, the teacher has increased labour costs, physical and psychological stress. The status of a pedagogical worker is always of special scientific interest because of the specific legal regulation, namely the current norms that differentiate this status, and due to the constant change in the content and structure of pedagogical activity, it requires changes and additions to educational and labour laws. At the same time, the traditional protected and defended labour rights and legal interests of pedagogical workers under the influence of modern information technologies and ‘demands of society’ are substantially expanded and filled with new functions of a pedagogical worker, which also require separate consideration and appropriate legal regulation. Purpose: to study the problems of protecting the labour rights and legal interests of teaching staff. Methods: system-structural, comparative, dialectical, formal-legal. Results: the author comes to the conclusion that in modern society, the protection of the teaching staff rights includes different directions and is complicated both due to the unresolved traditional problems, such as low wages, and the emergence of new ones, such as the influence of information technology and the information space on the teacher's activities.
