PROSECUTORIAL SUPERVISION OVER THE CHILDREN’S RIGHTS OF A SPECIAL MILITARY OPERATION’S PARTICIPANTS

A special military operation is currently underway on the territory of Ukraine and has affected millions of Russian citizens. At the same time, the Russian Federation guarantees the rights and social support measures for both participants in a special military operation and their family members, including children. Based on statistical data and analysis of Russian legislation, scientific papers and materials of prosecutorial practice, the article draws a conclusion about the relevance of prosecutorial supervision over the observance of the children’s rights whose parents participate in a special military operation and the important role of the prosecutor’s office as a guarantor of these rights realization. The author substantiates the need to develop and adopt a Federal law “On the rights and guarantees of participants in a special military operation and their family members”, which should eliminate a legal gap in Russian legislation, systematize federal, regional and municipal legal acts in this area, as well as unify the list and scope of rights, social support measures for participants in a special military operation and their family members, including children.
