The article analyzes the concept of reconstruction the private premises, taking into account the latest changes in housing law. The purpose of the study is to analyze the definition of the private premises reconstruction contained in regulatory acts and to distinguish it from the term accommodation rearrangement, to consider various types of residential reconstruction with different legal consequences, to study the stages of coordinating the implementation of redevelopment actions with the local government. The basis of the research methodology is a combination of general scientific and specific scientific methods of cognition, among which the dialectical, systemic-structural, formal-legal and analytical methods stand out. Results: it was determined that the term reconstruction is a synonym with the term reequipment. An analysis of housing law allows us to identify different types of private premises reconstruction: affecting changes in utilities system and equipment (it depends on the property); installation, replacement and relocation (depend on the type of action) of equipment or utilities system; draft and design; simple (not requiring significant material and labor costs) and complex; agreed and unauthorized (without the consent of the relevant authorized bodies and other persons). The stages of reconstruction approval with local governments are analyzed. Based on an analysis of regulatory legal acts, doctrine and judicial practice, measures to improve current housing law are proposed.
