THE PRACTICE OF SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS OF SHOOTOUT EVENT VIDEOS

The article develops a topic that general theoretical analysis was published by the author earlier, in 2024–2025, in the article «Situational Analysis Capabilities in Forensic Photo and Video Technical Examination». It reveals the situational analysis practice of video materials and reconstruction of a shootout recorded from different angles, with different levels of detail and using different devices (video cameras, mobile video recorders, and smartphones). The article provides a methodological framework for situational analysis with a focus on expert integrative diagnostics and describes expert practical approaches for synchronizing video materials into groups within the framework of digital video image processing. The author reveals the research specific features in each of the seven stages of situational analysis and highlights its overall complexity. The article expresses the opinion that the subject of situational analysis can be more than just a forensic expert. As a conclusion, the paper confirms the previously presented methodological scheme of situational analysis in practice and provides recommendations for preparing materials and optimizing situational analysis as part of investigative and expert activities. The importance of using software for synchronizing video materials is also noted.
